Maple Tree Counselling grew from the shared vision of colleagues and friends brought together by passion and professionalism. Responding to an exploding demand for mental wellbeing services in Hong Kong during turbulent times, we seek to create a genuinely diverse practice providing counselling and therapy with empathy, expertise and excellence.Maple Tree Counselling aims to cut through the noise and confusion of modern life to provide clients with a safe, empathic space in which to explore the challenges and crises with which they are struggling. Some clients call these difficulties depression, anxiety, addiction, compulsion, stress, trauma, attention deficit, hyperactivity, grief - the list is endless. Most just feel ‘blocked' and want change. Whether clients are looking for mental health diagnosis and referral, or the practical tools of recovery, relationship, reflection and realising potential, we aim to help them flourish.We operate under the key professional values of absolute confidentiality, ongoing professional development and expert individual and group supervision.We focus on adult and adolescent clients (14 and above). We provide both individual and group counselling, delivered in person and online and in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. We have several specialised areas of focus, including IVF counselling, adoption, sexual and gender identity and childhood trauma.Our practice of partners and associates that reflects the multicultural and multilingual vibrancy of Hong Kong. Comprising native Hong Kongers, long-term permanent residents and ex-patriates fresh off the boat, the English- and Chinese-speaking team is committed to helping foster resilience and wellbeing across both the Expat and Local Hong Kong communities it serves.
