MapTopia was born of necessity. We believe better data saves lives, empowers citizens, and reduces risks for all stakeholders. We believe citizens, city employees, and contractors want better solutions for today's infrastructure dilemmas. To that end, MapTopia is building new standards for accuracy, efficiency and safety by leveraging Augmented Reality, advanced mapping technologies & innovative geo-data aggregation techniques. In the US there are a combined 35 million miles of gas pipes, telecom conduit, water / sewer mains and electricity lines all providing the most basic needs for society. It's estimated that every 60 seconds an underground utility is damaged by excavation. The American Society of Civil Engineers estimates a required $4 Trillion investment will be needed next 10-15 years just to rebuild America's crumbling infrastructure.
