Farming - Saint Helena, California, United States
In 2006, Maurice Marciano, Owner & Vintner of Marciano Estate, discovered a forgotten sacred vineyard in St. Helena dating back to 1872. It had all the elements to make a world-class Napa Valley red blend & Estate cabernet sauvignon. Just like the great grapes that come together in our wine, some of the world's greatest winemakers came together to fashion it. Our wines came to life with the craftsmanship, skill, and vision of a renowned winemaking team headed by Morgan Maurèze (a fifth-generation winemaker who grew up working at Dominus alongside his father then in France for Petrus, Château Haut-Brion & La Mission Haut-Brion in Bordeaux and DRC or Domainede la Romanée Conti in Burgundy. Once Morgan returned to the Napa Valley, he worked with Andy Erickson at prestigious wineries such as Screaming Eagle Ovid, Arietta, Dancing Hares, Dalla Valle, and now full-time winemaker for Marciano Estate) with Michel Rolland and Benoit Touquette as consultants.
