Motion Pictures & Film - Bend, Oregon, United States
MARDA'S GIFT is an inspirational documentary short that reveals how eighty-year old Pastry Chef Marda Stoliar changes lives by teaching the art of European baking. The film shows how one woman, from one small town in Oregon, can help people from around the world change lanes in life. We focus on one student, an E.R. doctor, with a dream to open a bakery where his daughter, with Down syndrome, could work.It is also a story that brings to life the lesson that dreams don't have an expiration date. Marda and her students are proof that small change can create important ripple effects and inspire people to learn new skills and live their passions.Marda's Students Express Their Appreciation "Marda patiently but firmly teaches her students to achieve the outcome that goes far beyond what they imagined when they came to study with her." - Cathy Whims, Chef and Restaurateur "All of us and especially our young staff loved learning from her. She taught me how to beautifully create custom cakes, and one of our high school employees became a pastry chef! Her love for baking overflows and is contagious for whoever she teaches." - Kelly Faltis, Bakery Owner"The best lesson is that it is never too late to start something new if you have the determination. I am eternally grateful for that life lesson, and for a new and dear friendship." - Ezdan Fluckiger, Bakery OwnerPlease Help Us Fund This Important FilmPlease consider donating and registering for our update newsletter on our website - www.mardafilm.com MARDA'S GIFT is a project of the Charitable Partnership Fund (CPF), a qualified 501(c) (3) nonprofit.
