Maria High School, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Casimir (SSC), closed its doors in May 2013 after 102 years of educating young women in Chicago's Marquette Park neighborhood. It operated first under the name of St. Casimir Academy and, starting in 1952, as Maria High School. Following its closing, The mission of the Sisters continues on in the Maria Kaupas Center located in the former Maria High School convent. Named after SSC foundress Mother Maria Kaupas, this Catholic community center provides wraparound services to the students of Catalyst Maria Schools and their families, as well as the broader community, both Catholic and secular.
