MARIJÀN is an autonomous feminist organization that defends the rights of women and girls and works to eradicate all forms of violence against women in order to promote their full development. As such, the organization believes in women's ability to participate in decision-making processes in order to change not only their lives but also, and above all, the environments in which they live. The organization's interventions focus on several areas, including the prevention of forms of violence against women and girls, raising awareness of women's and girls' rights, and training. The members, imbued with the organization's vision and philosophy, campaign to represent and defend the interests of Haitian women before public authorities, public, para-public and private bodies, and develop strategies that remove all forms of discrimination against traditionally marginalized social groups by integrating their realities. MARIJÀN is therefore a space for consultation and mobilization to promote women's voices; an instrument for the defense and protection of Haitian women's rights.
