In my first job out of college, I coached the novice members of a high school crew team. These kids had to be shown which end of the oar goes in the water. I'll never forget the sense of accomplishment I felt months later when they won their first race. I experienced more pure joy than if I'd won the race myself. From that first job, through to where I am today, my higher purpose has been to care about the forward progress, or growth, of people like you. I discovered my sense of caring was not just static, the way one might care for a fragile crystal sculpture. I experienced caring for others as an activity: because I care I support you to fill the promise of your life.
