Maroon Peaks is a film distribution service that brings the best independent movie content to film festivals, cinemas and VOD platforms. As a consulting service, Maroon Peaks partners with producers to expand their audiences and maximize marketing potential during a film's release. Maroon Peaks was started by film sales agent, Don Torrance. With over five years of experience in theatrical distribution at Emerging Pictures, Torrance brings his knowledge of release plans and experience with nationwide cinemas to his own distribution company. Torrance was formerly the Director of Venue Booking & Box Office at EP & booked films such as MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO trilogy, THE SKIN I LIVE IN, TAKE THIS WALTZ, FOOD, INC., ART OF THE STEAL, BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK, CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS, CARNAGE and the OSCAR SHORTS for U.S. distribution. Torrance also oversaw the release of Ballet and Opera in Cinema LIVE and recorded performances for distribution in the U.S. and abroad. Having been a juror in the narrative feature category at the Brooklyn Film Festival for the past three years, Torrance brings his knowledge and passion for film festivals to Maroon Peaks. Torrance moderated a panel on the ‘Distribution Strategy for Documentaries' at the 2013 Brooklyn Film Festival and was an Associate Producer for DETONATOR, a feature narrative entry at the 2013 BK Fest.
