Maroon Tutor Match (MTM) aims to engage 100-150 K-12 students in the mid-South Side and create opportunities for 100+ University students to make meaningful connections and have a productive community engagement experience centered on a shared love of learning. The goal of MTM is that it will broaden the educational outreach component of the University's longstanding civic engagement efforts and create new sets of relationships between the University, University students, and families on the South Side.The essential features of this program are:· One-on-one and small group tutoring out of school in community spaces· Direct communication with families· Affordable rate tutoring for additional hours to be arranged between students and families independently.· Scholarship fund for additional tutoring hours available for families in need
