Mary Wallis Studios was founded in 2012 to represent the beautiful and unique lighting pieces created by designer Mary Wallis. Born in Australia, Mary studied design at Central St. Martins College in London, Parsons The New School for Design, and the Pratt Institute. Her professional experience began at Lindsay Adelman Studios where, as a Senior Designer, she still plays a key role designing custom installations. In 2014 the Mary Wallis for Lindsey Adelman collection was released continuing this long and productive relationship. Mary Wallis Studios are based in Brooklyn where, working alongside other specialist artisans, she takes a hands on role in the crafting of each light. Her collection explores the theme of beauty in fragmentation – "I'm interested in reconstructing the broken, and making it more beautiful than it was originally".
