College/University - College Park, MD, US
The Maryland Sea Grant College works to apply science to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland's coastal resources. We fund and explain scientific research to help leaders and communities deal with our state's major environmental challenges. We promote a sustainable coastal economy. Our program is a federal-state partnership funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the State of Maryland. We are a service organization that is part of the University System of Maryland and is administered by the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. We are headquartered on the University of Maryland campus in College Park, Maryland. We fund research, education, extension, and public outreach throughout the State of Maryland. We develop scientific expertise and provide technical guidance to help meet the needs of people who manage, conserve, enjoy, and make their living from the Chesapeake Bay, America's largest and most productive estuary. We act as an "honest broker," working with diverse partners to share useful, unbiased solutions.
