Masala Dandenong Football Club was incorporated in August 2012 and played its first season of football in 2013, in the Victorian Amateur Football Association in Club XVIII (3).Masala now has 6 seasons of footballing experience and is growing every day. The club has experienced significant growth in terms of playing numbers and continues to improve on field performances each year and now competes in Division 4.The club began following the 2012 AFL International Cup when a number of Melbourne based Indian Representatives wanted to continue playing football in an environment they felt comfortable and included in. Masala quickly became the home for anyone from anywhere who wanted to play football.The word Masala, means ‘blend of spices' in a number of the sub-continental languages. This name is reflective of the diverse culture and personalities that Masala opens its arms to.Our mission is to engage culturally and linguistically diverse communities in the Greater Dandenong area and introduce them to football. Masala aims to promote diversity within the football community, as well as encouraging all people from a range of backgrounds to enjoy the comradery and community that only a football club atmosphere provides. The club's core accountability is to not only its players, but also their families and friends to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all.
