Mason's Road is an online literary journal sponsored by Fairfield University's MFA in Creative Writing Program, and a collaborative effort among its graduate students. As a literary journal with an educational twist, Mason's Road aims to focus each issue on a particular element of the writing craft, and publishes new works in fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, drama (stage or screen), art, craft essays, and multimedia (audio and video) from both emerging and accomplished contributors. \\Designed to motivate established and aspiring writers to become 'lifelong learners of the writing craft,' Mason's Road highlights its selected themes - Voice, Settings, Arc, and Image to date - through: \\* Letter from the Editor-in-Chief on why the theme was chosen\* Letters from the Genre Editors introducing their selections in context of the theme\* An audio interview faculty series\* Featured artists\* Craft Essays\\Launched in July 2010, Mason's Road has quickly grown into a literary magazine that national and international writers and readers tap into, drawing visitors from 57 countries who have left over 100 comments on its literature to date. In 2011, the journal awarded its first creative writing prizes of $500 and $1,000, to promising new writers C. Joseph Jordan and Keema Waterfield, respectively.
