In 2008 MATERIALBYPRODUCT received the Premier's Award for both commercial and cultural fashion design as part of the Melbourne Design Festival. This biennial award was also won by MATERIALBYPRODUCT in 2006, including the overall prize (competed for by Architecture, Industrial, Graphic and Product Design disciplines). In January 2008 by invitation only MATERIALBYPRODUCT were invited to participate in Barcelona, Spain 2008 and 2009 Women's Fashion week.
