Math Off the Books is an educational organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our aim to increase positive attitudes towards math by creating a fun atmosphere using sports, art, and other themes. Math Off the Book's mission is to increase students' positive attitude towards math, improve math skills, and make math fun!Our program uses a variety of teaching techniques involving four specific camp programs that aim to: - Build confidence & reduce math anxiety - Improve problem-solving abilities using real-world examples - Have fun!We can do this by creating an encouraging environment that is much different than traditional school programs. We do this with a focus on engaging students on three levels: - Creative outdoor games & activities - Creative team based activities - One-on-One attentionMath Off the Books offers five 1-week sessions during the 2011 summer season, as well as one-on-one tutoring sessions in Charlotte, North Carolina.
