Matt Rogers is running for a seat on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Rogers is an attorney with the Pittsburgh law firm Raphael, Ramsden & Behers where his focus is family law matters such as child custody, marital divorce, spousal and child support, protection from abuse, grandparent's rights, and estate planning. "My experience as an attorney practicing family law ensures that I will be ready to serve the people of Allegheny County on day one since most newly elected judges end up serving in the Court's Family Division," Rogers said. "Listening is where the law begins, and I am confident that I have the temperament – along with the experience – to serve the people of Allegheny County in a manner that is impartial and fair to all parties."Rogers graduated from Duquesne University School of Law. While a law student, he received a certification to practice law and represent underprivileged individuals by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in civil and family matters. For his efforts representing indigent community members in their various family law cases, he was presented with the Outstanding Clinical Service Award for his achievements in the Civil and Family Justice Law Clinic and the Pro Bono Legal Service Award.Following law school, Rogers served as a law clerk for the Honorable John F. DiSalle in the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County. During his tenure with the Judge, he had the opportunity to work on hundreds of criminal, civil, family, and juvenile dependency cases. Rogers grew up in O'Hara Township and attended Fox Chapel High School. He resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife, Monica, and his one-year-old son Donovan.
