Matt Stansberry & The Romance is a 9-piece, American Rock ‘N Roll band based in Oklahoma City. The band is comprised of The Romance Rhythm (bass, drums and keys), the 23rd Street Horns (trumpet, trombone and saxophone) and is fronted by the group's songwriter and bandleader, Matt Stansberry (vocals and lead guitar), the soulful powerhouse, Ms. Myra Beasley (vocals), and sibling-harmony, hype-man, Joe Stansberry (vocals and rhythm guitar). The group has developed their own sound by blending American popular music, Blues, R&B, Soul and Funk. Early influences include Buddy Holly, James Brown, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix. The group is known for their dynamic live shows, which have included extended, 3-hour, non-stop performances.The Romance has released two studio recordings, both successfully fan funded through Kickstarter campaigns (Let's Brighten It Up, debut EP released Summer 2012 and Crash Landing, debut LP released Summer 2014), two exclusive singles (Heartbreaker, released Spring 2016 and The Good Life, released Summer 2017), and a live, in-studio, 3-song EP (Sun Studio Session, released summer 2016) recorded in one evening at the historic Sun Studio in Memphis, TN.In addition to releasing an EP from Sun Studio, the band was featured in a PBS Sun Session segment, which is airing nationally throughout 2017 on PBS affiliates. The Romance has been actively touring in the Midwest and Southwest since 2014, steadily growing their fan base in new markets; including Chicago, Memphis, Austin, St Louis, Kansas City, Dallas, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Wichita and Tulsa. The Romance has shared the stage and performed with Wanda Jackson ("Queen of Rockabilly", Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame inductee), The Bar-Kays (Stax Records session band), and most recently this year with Gary Busey (Academy Award nominee) and Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men). Notable performances include the New Year's Eve Guitar Drop on Beale Street in Memphis, the Oklahoma Governor's Inaugural Ball, a SXSW official showcase, Summer Sounds headliner in Cedarburg, Wisconsin and the first act to perform on the new Jones Assembly stage in Oklahoma City.Their upcoming release, Future Love, is the band's third studio album which was successfully crowd funded through a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $26,000 – more than their two previous campaigns combined. Recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Future Love covers some new territory, and the band exhibits their inherent funk and soul roots on songs like "In the Future", "You Got Me Singing Hallelujah", "Sexy" and "Show Me Some Love", while the band digs into their classic rock 'n roll roots with "Girl Crazy" and "Crazy Boy". Closing out the 8-song LP, Matt's songwriting shines on "Good Love" and the album ender, "Top of The World".The new album will be available as a joint release with Stansberry's new solo album, Past Heartache, Present Hope. The joint release is entitled Past Heartache, Present Hope & Future Love.
