By connecting our Veteran's caregivers to the tools necessary to develop and commercialize medical devices, the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Health Administration Regional Innovation Collaborative (MAVRIC) aims to give Veterans first access to innovative and disruptive medical technologies that will improve lives, increase access to care, and make clear the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)'s unwavering commitment to its distinguished and honored patient population. This collaboration between Harbor Designs & Manufacturing and the Veterans Health Administration is a technology commercialization resource for innovative doctors and caregivers serving the VHA's Mid-Atlantic Region that is strategicallylocated close to the Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC), VA Maryland Health Care System, and other such hospitals and organizations. By combining VHA with the private sector's knowledge oflean development and commercialization, the intent is to fast track medical innovations to serve both the Veteran and the broader regional healthcare community. Key to this mission is the establishment of a best in class 3D printing center of excellence, co-located on site at Harbor Designs & Manufacturing. MAVRIC serves to not just empower new medical device innovation, but also to bolster the VA and region against future supply chain disruptions.
