MaxxHaze Presents (formerly known as Maxx Haze Productions) was the largest and most established concert production company in New England for electronic music as of 2007. Since 2007 the company has been on an unspecified hiatus. The emphasis of the company was multi-media electronic music concerts with a special emphasis on live bands, live acts, and DJs that touch more upon a live sound. The biggest regular acts were DJ Krush and LTJ Bukem, but many international artists were featured including the New Deal, DJ Q-Bert, Goldie, Deantoni Parks, Ming & FS, DJ Vadim, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Lotus, Brothers Past, DB, Cylob, Richard Devine, 3 Kings, Hrvatski, Haas/Benevento/Russo Trio, DJ Monk of Rabbit in the Moon, Danny the Wildchild, and many others. While specializing in the live electronic shows, all genres were touched upon including many shows featuring jambands, rock band, hip hop acts, and experimental. A regular slate of seasonal shows would generally feature many mid-size rock and jamband shows, with 2 or 3 bigger electronic music events. Earlier days saw MaxxHaze managing the acts Moonraker, Satyananda, and Seishi; although the management and booking side was disbanded in 2004.Eventually the decision was made in 2007 to put the shows to a halt due to the lack of owning a venue. Though it was a fun feature to have shows in all of the best Boston rock and nightclubs, this squeezed the profit margin in a way that made the business not viable (despite making money on 16 out of the last 17 shows). No degree of booking expertise or promotion would be able to counter-balance the lack of venue ownership.A proper business plan was subsequently drawn up but no effort has been made to solicit VC equity. However, the logo and concept still remain as a tangible entity. Will we ever see the return of MaxxHaze?
