May & Baker were a pharmaceutical company who operated in Dagenham for more than three-quarters of a century, employing local people. The company produced compounds for medicine. One of the compounds M&B693 was the saviour of many servicemen, including Winston Churchill. The factory had a proud sporting heritage playing inter departmental sports both in Dagenham and in Europe. The football section's first year in competitive football is listed in the Essex County FA Handbook as 1923. Although the factory had several changes of ownership it kept its links with the local people through sport at the M&B Sports & Social Club – our home ground.May & Baker Club have always been one of the leading clubs in Essex and have a long track record of excellence, both in league and cup football. The 2013/2014 season saw the Saturday football section branch out under their own Chairmanship renaming themselves May & Baker Eastbrook Community FC, with the aim of encouraging growth from younger generation. Our 1st Team compete in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League, with our Reserves competing in the Essex Olympian Football League, Division 2 and Development. Division 4. A Vets side in the Essex Greene King league. We also have added a youth system which comprises 14 junior sides including girls.
