Arts and Crafts - , New Mexico, United States
Founded in 2015 by French collector and entrepreneur Christian Mayeur, Mayeur Projects is a contemporary art gallery and a creative company, based in Las Vegas New Mexico and supporting emerging as well as established artists. Privileging art that is above all an experience. We organize contemporary art shows and residencies, artistic & creative expeditions and creative seminars for collectors and entrepreneurs, to open their look, mind, spirit and imagination. We are part of the Design Thinking and Slow Art movements. One main reason of our installation in Las Vegas New Mexico is the proximity of New Mexico Highlands University campus and its Visual and Performing Arts and Media Arts & Technology Departments. We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the College of Arts and Sciences, which provide studios and equipment to our residents. While remaining engaged with the global art scene, Mayeur Projects is committed to the community of Las Vegas, New Mexico. We are proud to be part of the revival of this incredible town, rich with resources and potential, and look to foster an atmosphere of conviviality and connection with our artists, collectors and art lovers, but also with innovative businesses, research centers and companies of New Mexico, in connection with the global art community. A true city of the Old West situated 60 miles from Santa Fe and an important stop on the railroad line between Los Angeles and Chicago, Las Vegas New Mexico was at one time the most important city in all the Southwest. The Mayeur Projects building at 200-202 Plaza Park is one of the 900 historic buildings in Las Vegas. We are honored to have restored this incredible building, a renovation that was awarded in 2016 by Las Vegas Committee for Historic Preservation.
