MBOX Terminal in Niš, Serbia, is a rail-road intermodal terminal located in Popovac, in the new industrial zone of city of Niš. With two offices, in Belgrade and Niš, the company MBOX TERMINALS DOO was established with the aim of operating and developing the only terminal of its kind in the southern part of Serbia. As per the company's intention, Niš treminal will be just the first out of many similar logistics centers in Serbia and in the region.Combining various modes of transport, that can be organized at the intermodal terminal, it contributes to the efficient, economical and environmentally sustainable solutions for the transport of goods. Due to the lack of such facility in the southern part of Serbia, it was decided to build a terminal in Popovac, 2km from Pan-European Corridor 10, with a complete rail infrastructure. The biggest advantage of the terminal is its location, which represents the crossroad between east and south. It is also a connection point for many other intermodal terminals and ports in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, Albania, Austria, Slovenia…MBOX has 3 industrial railt racks with a total length of 1000 meters and a "UNIMOG" rail mover for easy shunting of wagons. It is located next to the main public shunting station in Niš, which provides an easy and fast access of intermodal trains. Handling of empty and full containers is done by Reach Stacker mechanization, while the terminal is also equipped with electrical connections for "reefer" containers. The terminal has a storage capacity of over 2,200 containers at one time, or about 50,000 TEUs per year.
