Just in time for Christmas my debut novel, Scurrilous Scoundrels, is available on Amazon Kindle in both ebook and paperback format. Kindle presents the first six chapters for a preview of the Scoundrels. Scurrilous Scoundrels: An experimental and highly controversial USAF autonomous drone has failed to return from a test flight. The full resources of the American Government are searching for it. They fear the artificial intelligence controlling the drone may have evolved to the point where it has calculated a safer destination than its base at Groom Lake, Nevada and defected to an adversarial country. The development of advanced stealth capabilities makes it invisible. A father and son fishing illegally within the protected waters off the island of Kaho'olawe find the drone when their sports fishing yacht sinks in shallow water. They fear the sunken boat will lead naval authorities back to them. While clandestinely salvaging from their sunken boat they find the drone but are reluctant to report their find until they discover the drone is causing severe pollution. If they do not inform the authorities, the Hawaiian Islands will suffer immense damage. If they do, imprisonment for a multitude of criminal offenses appears unavoidable. One false move and they will spend time in prison, lose their commercial fishing license and forfeit the insurance claim on their sports fishing yacht. The author is a retired lawyer who practiced law in Edmonton Alberta. He divides his time between Canada and Maui. ‘Scurrilous Scoundrels' follows on the on the success of the author's first publication; 'Sir, I am too young to die' a non-fiction description of his humorous experiences administering the law in an African country ravaged by a vicious war. Also available on Amazon Kindle.
