With hundreds of thousands of publicly traded stocks worldwide, there is always a bargain out there somewhere. We spend our time turning over as many rocks as possible searching to find interesting opportunities. No special expertise or intellect is required to understand these opportunities, but it does take focus and passion. We focus our time on investigating as many companies as possible, and we enjoy the process of learning about individual businesses. Every once in a while, high quality businesses can be found at reasonable prices. We have the mindset of a business owner, not a trader. This means that we focus on the results of each business, not the short term price fluctuations of the stock market. We are concerned with the level of cash that a business will produce for its owners over its lifetime, not if someone else will be willing to pay a higher valuation for the company tomorrow. Instead of trying to predict the thoughts or emotions of other people, we try to predict if a business will earn an acceptable yield on the purchase price we are paying. The vast majority of businesses will be too difficult to judge, but every once in a while a patient investor can find a worthwhile opportunity.We focus on small, overlooked companies that are publicly traded in developed markets both in the United States and abroad. Our portfolio will be concentrated in a very small number of companies. Our investors have the mindset of long term business owners.
