Civic & Social Organization - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
As the official SSMU Service representative of secular and non-political interpretation of unified Arab culture, the Arab Student Network (ASN) provides the appropriate Resources, Support, Referral, Awareness and Education inspired by the enriched heritage of the Arab world, for the enjoyment and benefit of the general student body.In addition to its array of diversified events, ASN facilitates the catering of internship opportunities in the Arab world, opportunities to teach refugees English online, the introduction of Arab-speaking mentors and meal delivery package deals to fit your lifestyle! We also mediate a SSMU Colloquial Levantine Arabic mini-course.In our aim to bridge the gap between the students and local Arab institutions and employers, ASN introduces a portal that continuously updates the list of local Arab professionals present, along with our partners & sponsors or affiliated organizations. An Alumni Network will also be maintained to ensure institutional stability and heritability. To further integrate the student body, ASN will introduce a bi-annual General Assembly and portray a dynamic atmosphere to its social media platforms. Posts will include recognition of national Arab holidays, art, trivia and articles that better direct students on the presented resources available to them in Montreal, under the Arablog initiative. A television network under the name of ASN TV will also be responsible for covering interactions and interviews with the general student body along with broadcasting ASN efforts. Furthermore, an opportunity for students to express their ambitions and goals for recognition is displayed by ArabsofMcGill initiatives. In addition, we hope to open a digital store to allow students to purchase Arab-themed sweaters, t-shirts and other merchandise. Note that national exclusive Arab associations on-campus are not affiliated with ASN unless approved otherwise upon evaluation of affiliation during the latter General Assembly.
