Hospital & Health Care - Montreal, Quebec, Canada
We are a group of students dedicated to breast cancer research and awareness. Our primary goal is to organize events that allow students to have a hands-on approach to tackling breast cancer and promoting awareness in the community. The executive team consists of about 12 Vice-Presidents, with various positions and skills. They plan and implement major events in the Think Pink portfolio. General executive members of Think Pink further help in the implementation of events, and offers the most support in our events portfolio. Events range from informative events like lab tours, speaker series, documentary viewings, to fun events like potlucks, bake sales and trivia nights. Our aim is to raise funds for breast cancer research, while staying informative and engaging students in our cause. Our most notable events are weekly samosa sales held every Thursday in various places across campus, as well as an annual year-end gala. While we are a pink-ribbon breast cancer club, we also provide students with the opportunity to engage in non-think pink ribbon organizations and their approach to breast cancer research. Our goal is to dissociate the pink-ribbon charity stigma associated with larger corporations, while truly highlighting the important cause at hand. Most notably is our affiliation with the Montreal-based Breast Cancer Action Quebec, which focuses more on environmental and social aspects of breast cancer. At Think Pink, our primary goal is to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide opportunities for students to get involved in different ways to stop breast cancer. We encourage all to get involved in our movement and support our cause.
