For youth who lack meaningful and focused academic, recreational and cultural opportunities, and who must face the reality of poverty, crime, drugs, and negative peer pressure, the McGivney Community Center offers a safe haven for positive personal, educational, and social growth and fulfillment. We believe that every child has the ability to achieve and provide the services and programs that make it possible for each child who enters our doors to grow to their fullest potential. Beyond our role as an educational and social resource, the Center is a binding force in the community. We combine a range of goal-oriented programs within a safe and structured setting, and both children and parents readily seek our services and become an active part of our community. In offering hope and a positive vision of the future, we are a mainstay of the neighborhoods we serve. A sampling of those who benefit include: School Children Teens Parents & Families Local Government Local Businesses Bridgeport Community Community Based Organizations We are preparing youth academically and socially, making it possible for them to achieve in school, continue their education, and become productive members of the community. Our work unites families, government leaders, businesses, and concerned citizens in a common cause. The Bridgeport community is a better place due to the commitment of the Center.
