McNicholl Livestock is a family-owned cattle breeding and fattening enterprise. The company's mission is to produce high quality beef, sustainably. We do this through the care of natural resources, people and the community, the health and welfare of animals, and the drive for continuous improvement. The company was founded in 1988 by its Directors Lee and Megan McNicholl to combine the veterinary and livestock trading activities of Director Lee McNicholl BVSc MSc. MLVS consists of five properties located on the Western Downs in Queensland. The location and quality of the country allows breeding and fattening of a wide variety of cattle types which underpins the company's ability to produce high quality beef for a range of domestic and international markets. MLVS pioneered breeding and custom-feeding for the Woolworths feedlot value-chain. The company has supported and promoted Meat Standards Australia (MSA) since its inception and MSA markets is an integral part of the company's management. The predominant genotype is Angus/Shorthorn cross, which is ideally suited to a range of premium markets. This is reflected in the business's success in the prestigious ‘Paddock to Plate' competition at the Queensland RNA Show.
