MIESS stands for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Students' Society. As the name suggests this is a group by students of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering for the students of MIED. MIESS incepted in the year 2012 was formed to act as a flag bearer of MIED aiming at improving the interaction of students with students and professors. The group helps the freshers in finding their place in this technological in one of the finest departments of IITR. Events are organized every year keeping in mind the nascent and bright minds of freshers efforts towards making them feel comfortable and aiding in discovering their passion by keeping them in touch with latest developments in the field of Mechanical and Production Engineering. In addition to this many technical as well as non-technical events are held to facilitate the all-round development of students. With the group adding various dimensions to its success every year.Guided by the rich experience and expertise of Dr. Avinash Parashar and Dr. Abhinash Kumar Swain, the group aims to be a common platform for all the needs of MIED students and continue to reach newer heights by the constant support.
