Med-TSO Details
Med-TSO is the Association of the Mediterranean TSOs operating the grids of 18 Mediterranean Countries. Established on 19th April 2012, at Terna's headquarters with the mission to promote the coordination of the development plans and the electric grids operation of Med-TSO Countries. Based on multilateral cooperation for the integration of the Mediterranean Electricity Systems, whose benefits result from the sharing of resources, costs and risks of investments in infrastructure. The activities of the Association include: analyzing and proposing the development of an economical, secure and environmentally sustainable Mediterranean transport and dispatching system with emphasis on cross-border investments and on projects that aim at strengthening security and quality of electricity supply; analyzing and proposing common technical rules for the interoperability of the interconnected systems of the Members' Countries; carrying out training, technical assistance and know-how transfer activities; promoting information exchanges on the implementation of networks, choice of common technical rules of operation, and on the Research & Development(«R&D») activities relevant to TSOs industry; promoting public acceptability with reference to the environment of energy transmission infrastructures; analyzing and taking common positions on issues that can have an impact on the development and operation of transmission systems; enhancing communication and consultation with stakeholders and transparency of TSOs operations; analyzing the electrical installation behaviors and sharing experiences and solutions of criticalities related to grids operation.
