Media is one of the most influential and vital institutions of society. It has always played a very important role in conflict zones and troubled areas in shaping public opinion. In volatile and uncertain environment media and media persons become more important in facing new challenges on various levels. Due to lack of some of the essential amenities media and media persons both are pushed to the limit. Lack of sufficient and adequate training and education make the otherwise veracious news and information doubtful. This is truer about the troubled areas of the northwest Pakistan. Except for some individual efforts here and there organized training for the working journalists in the troubled areas of Pakistan remains sparse.Given that the governments of both Afghanistan and Pakistan have opened FM Radio stations and different TV channels in the troubled areas around their borders to propagate, educate, and sensitize the masses, media, media education, and practicing media become extremely important.
