MCRC, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation assuring access to conflict resolution services at the community level with control and responsibility for alternative dispute resolution maintained throughout Howard County. MCRC, Inc. strives to satisfy the requirements of community mediation. By providing services, such as community mediation, restorative practices, re-entry mediation, training and education, and school-based conflict resolution (i.e. school circles), MCRC offers the community of Howard County a variety of necessary ways in which to manage conflicts among family members, schoolmates, neighbors, co-workers, landlord/tenants, and other interpersonal conflicts. The process is voluntary for all participating in the process and offers participants the unique opportunity to form their own resolution through a greater understanding of each other and the conflict as a whole. Our services have numerous benefits, including: timely scheduling, flexible scheduling, self-determined solutions, and confidentiality. MCRC, Inc. offers services to people who live or work in Howard County. Among these services, Community Mediation uses a volunteer based co-mediation model to offer high quality mediation sessions. For example, in community mediation, participants sit down with two neutral, impartial mediators who guide participants to come to their own solutions. MCRC empowers people to transform conflict into opportunity for communication, mutual understanding, personal growth, community-building, and social change.
