Alternative Dispute Resolution - , ,
Mediation is a methodical step by step process whereby the areas of both agreement and disagreement are defined. All relevant information is gathered by and shared between the parties. The position, goals and concerns of each party are discussed and clarified. Using the information gathered, various alternatives or proposals are explored. Negotiations will then take place between the parties in order for a mutually acceptable resolution to any and all conflict to be reached. Mediation is a voluntary process and in order to achieve the best possible chance for a successful mediation, all parties concerned must voluntarily agree to the mediation. It is VERY IMPORTANT to remember that mediation is not therapy, marriage or couples counselling. If there is a chance for reconciliation through therapy, marriage or couples counselling, the clients will be referred to an appropriate counsellor or therapist. A mediation will typically last between 4 and 10 sessions depending on the number and complexity of the issues to be resolved. Mediation Services offers mediation in 3 main areas:1) Divorce and Post Divorce Mediation 2) Couples Mediation3) Family Mediation
