Non-Profit - TROY, MI, US
Medical Outreach Group is a nonprofit, dedicated to help those in need of medical support. We are dedicated to helping provide the people of SE MI who are low or no income and/or are uninsured. We aid these people and the many nonprofit clinics that support them. We redistribute health supplies, and medical equipment including and not limited to: wheelchairs, walkers, EKG's, stethoscopes, Blood Pressure Cuffs, etc.. from physicians in the Metro-Area. Students. Professionals. Dedicated Community Members. We are a group of students originally from the Metro-Area who really feel the need to address healthcare accessibility and affordability. Coming from a wide variety of backgrounds including the Pre-Medical path, and from many different universities such as Wayne State University, Oakland University, and the University of Michigan, our team brings our abilities to help those in need. The M.O.G. team consists of a diverse group: Physicians, Medical Students, Graduates, and Undergraduate members. Levels of the uninsured in Detroit are rather high, making it difficult for those who require supplies and health goods, to afford them. We've volunteered in the city and truly taken a step back realizing the essence of the issue at hand. Our national government can only help at a general level providing grants to clinics in the area; however, to create small, rapid changes to our environment we must take a more hands-on approach! The Medical Outreach Team hopes to become a key player in assisting those, restricted by medical field, personal finances, and/or other personal structures halting them. If you are a clinic seeking support in this area or an individual who are in urgent need of a certain supply or health good please contact us, so we may assist you the best we can.We are dedicated to this community and have donated $1.5 million dollars in equipment.
