MediClim Enterprises Inc. was founded to improve the quality of life of sufferers of several chronic ailments. The MediClim™ Alert service, accessible at Mediclim.com, provides personal advance notice of upcoming weather‐related health problems, allowing individuals at risk to mitigate negative effects on their health, and is so doing improve their quality of life. As a spin off, the service reduces health system costs. Unique in the health care field, our Internet-based service provides 24-hour advance notice to sufferers of six chronic illnesses alerting them that their ailments may become aggravated or de-stabilized as a result of upcoming weather. This advance notice provides an opportunity for sufferers to take action thereby improving their quality of life. The ailments are Migraine, Arthritis, Asthma, Heart Disease, Diabetes and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The service is subscription based and available direct to consumers or their carers. The Mediclim service can also be licensed to corporations, hospitals and healthcare organizations. Subscribers currently receive the notices by e-mail. However a text-alerting service is currently under development. Subscribers need only provide an e-mail address, a Postal/Zip code and their selection of ailments to start receiving alerts. The service is available in Canada, the 48 continental US states and Europe. Mediclim has in excess of 30,000 subscribers and has issued in excess of 5 million alerts.
