Keeping in mind the in surge in the health sector in India especially in northern region of the country, a dire need is being felt to bring various players of the health sector like pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, surgical instrumentation manufacturers, bio-engineering, biotechnology, hospitals, doctors and allied health service providers on a single platform where all can collectively interact and give their valuable suggestions and put light on the upcoming scenario of the health sectors. Displaying and exhibiting the latest technology and trends in the health service sector would certainly help the manufacturers and the users knowing needs of each other. Chandigarh has rapidly grown up as a medical hub in the recent past. At least a dozen of big corporate hospitals, super speciality institutes and health education organisations have come up in tricity zone of Chandigarh that includes Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. The hospitals here have not being catering to the needs of the patients from northern states but also promoted medical tourism. It is for the first time that such an effort is being planned for this region, especially for Chandigarh. MedicoIndex, the Health Expo is being organised in Chandigarh in the month of March 2014.
