MedTechBoston is committed to bringing high-quality content about the people and ideas at work to improve public health. We cover the nexus of medicine, innovation and technology. For those in and around the medical community, innovation is upon us. Adoption of practices from other high-risk and service industries, along with the data being gathered under the ‘big data' movement, is fundamentally changing our healthcare delivery systems. Technological breakthroughs, and the ability to deliver data and functionality to end-users, have generated an exciting new space in medical technology. Both redesign and innovation promise to change medicine as we know it. The problem is that many of us don't know it. Despite the growing innovation energy and solid medical infrastructure in Beantown, many medical providers and health care entrepreneurs remain in the dark about opportunities, events, and work happening around the city. Leveraging Boston's talent and resources, and achieving its potential as a innovation hub, requires better coverage of innovation work. The Medtech Boston blog sets out to address this need. It aims to highlight exciting innovation work happening in and around the city, and to create starting points for discussion about it. It aims to be as organic and nimble as the kind of work featured in its posts. Ultimately, it aims to broadcast what we hope will be a new tradition for Boston, not only as a city with first-class medical research and patient care, but one with passionate people using new technology and creativity to think big thoughts about solutions to some of medicine's biggest problems.
