After exploring quite a few art forms while studying at The Open Window School of Visual Communication, I decided to study Nursing Science at The University of Pretoria and continued to do my Honors Degree in Midwifery Sciences. Fibre Art (in the Seventies known as Macrame) slowly found its way into my world & I soon realized that my passion for handcrafted fibre art persisted. I am intrigued by the way the different textures create the most intricate, beautiful design that transforms any house into a warm, loving boho-vibe home. All of my creations are proudly handcrafted - locally in South Africa, using 100% natural cotton cord.I also incorporate different natural fibres in some of the pieces for a more textured effect. Using the traditional knots in the creation process, I aim to give my work the unique, contemporary twist it needs to make it part of the Meisiekind family.Fibre Art takes a lot of detailed handcraft, patience & passion to create the intricate patterns. It is because of this process & special attention given to each piece individually that not one piece of art will look exactly the same as the other & they all have their own personality.I aim to keep my work as natural & organic as possible, with only a few accented dyed color pieces in every design range. The range is not litimed to but includes gods such as baby toys, baby teether toys, paci-pin or dimmy clips, beautful wall hangings and so mucn more!We love to hear what your needs are and attempt to recreate if for you as goof as we can.
