Research - New Delhi, Delhi, India
Melange was started in 2009 as a group of dynamic researchers working on Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing(MUC). With passing years we transformed our vision towards Human Computer Interaction (HCI) with the objective of sustainable development. We believe that technology as a catalyst has the potential to drive our society towards a better future – at the individual, community, and societal level. As a group of young and socially-committed researchers, we are a diverse cadre working in areas like Public Health & Education(both rural and urban settings), Energy Sustainability, Mobile Cloud Sensing etc. Headed by Dr. Pushpendra (Professor and Head of Human-Centered Design Dept. at IIIT-Delhi, India), we envision a multi-disciplinary approach in our research. Being actively involved in Maternal health and Menstrual hygiene, our work views women's health from a broader perspective and finds opportunities in ICT based solution for imparting education. Our active projects include training ASHAs in the domain of maternal health, leveraging ICT for menstrual health education, mHealth for managing Schizophrenia, and measuring digital literacy. We closely work with field practitioners and NGOs to support, leverage and/or extend Information Communication Technology for development (ICT4D) of Indian society. For our current research projects, we are collaborating with premier practitioners like AIIMS, SWACH, SachhiSaheli, Udayan Care, and HAIYYA.
