The Melbourne Energy Institute (MEI) delivers influential, interdisciplinary research on the challenges of transitioning towards a low carbon energy system. We work with the community, industry and government on some of the world's most pressing energy challenges.MEI is an access point for industry, government and community groups seeking to work with leading researchers on innovative solutions in the following areas: new energy resources; developing new ways to harness renewable energy; more efficient ways to use energy; securing energy waste and framing optimal laws and regulation to achieve energy outcomes.The MEI research portfolio engages over 300 researchers at the University of Melbourne from various disciplines including Architecture, Arts, Business & Economics, Engineering, Health, Law, Planning and Science.
