Melbourne SOUP brings neighbours together to support local change.We help individuals and community groups organise events where locals back ideas and projects that positively impact their neighbourhood. SOUP events involve hearing about good causes, enjoying good food and interacting with good people.Since February 2019 we've organised 7 SOUP live events in suburbs around Melbourne (pre COVID) which overall included 28 projects presented, and 637 attendees. Last year we hosted 2 documentary screenings of 2040. In May 2020 we hosted our first virtual SOUP event. Previously we focused on recruiting presenters from all across Melbourne, Victoria, Australia for our events, now we've pivoted to help communities hold their own SOUP events to foster community connections, participation and support for new community projects. Our new direction will evolve with co-design help from you - the community.Melbourne SOUP is inspired by the original Detroit SOUP in Michigan, USA.
