Starting with $350 and a dream, Julian Plyter and Kareem Hamady created Melt Bakery in the summer of 2010 by testing a simple idea they had for a sustainable ice cream sandwich company featuring fun and approachable choices alongside adventurous seasonal options. In June 2012, they opened New York's first ice cream sandwich store at 132 Orchard Street -- just a couple blocks away from the Hester Street Fair weekend market where it all began.From vending on New York's iconic High Line, UrbanSpace markets and Washington Square Park, high volume festivals including New York Comic Con and the US Open, wholesaling to many of New York's most reputable establishments, catering a wide range of corporate and social events, home and office deliveries - Melt has traversed many sectors, warming (or cooling!) its way into the hearts of millions of ice cream lovers.2016 included the opening of our second brick and mortar at 111 Front St. in DUMBO, Brooklyn. 2018 has included our first successful run at the US Open and opening of two locations at Macy's flagship store in Herald Square.
