Technology today is evolving at an unprecedented state. There are some amazing things that are possible today that were beyond our parent's wildest dreams. In the midst of all this "progress", we're seeing a lot of things being created "just because" instead of thinking through the consequences of these things on the human experience. Technology should be helping people live better lives, not enabling addiction machines that cause mental health epidemics. As time marches on, we think the most important thing to preserve is a person's story; their experiences, thoughts, emotions. In essence, their legacy. As that is truly unique to the individual and their ultimate contribution to humanity.
