Mental Health America of Illinois (MHAI) maintains a number of initiatives and services to help carry out our mission to promote mental health, prevent mental illnesses and improve care and treatment for persons suffering from mental and emotional disorders. In addition to the initiatives listed below, MHAI is honored to have been awarded two national partnership opportunities to help build public awareness and understanding of mental health issues. MHAI is one of forty partners with Mental Health America (MHA) on their Campaign for America's Mental Health: http://www.mentalhealthamerica.net/go/campaign. MHAI is also the Illinois Outreach Partner for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Outreach Partnership Program: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/outreach/partnership-program/index.shtml What We Do: -Consultation and Training Services -Changing Minds Campaign -Suicide Prevention Education and Outreach through our "It Only Takes One" campaign-TeenScreen - voluntary mental health screenings in schools/communities-Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) -Disaster Mental Health -School & Community Assistance Team (S.C.A.T.)
