Lets first break down the words into three parts and see their individual meanings. According to the dictionary, "merchant" means a person whose job is to buy and sell products in large amounts, especially by trading with other countries; "of" means expressing the relationship between a part and a whole and "design" means a decorative pattern. Now we do understand that design has another meaning as well but for now we will just focus on this one. So this company means that selling and buying, designs ,is their business. For now, MOD would like to focus only on selling t-shirts, which is phase one of the plan. Eventually aiming to grow a network of artists who will provide designs or artworks to MOD, which is phase two of the plan. T-shirt is just another medium to express your art. If phase one and two are successfully accomplished then you may find MOD venturing into other mediums as well. While thinking of expansion MOD would first expand into the clothing sector/ fashion industry. After that it will venture into other fields of design as well. That was a brief vision of the company.A few words about Pawan Upadhaya the founder of MOD. Hardworking, Persistent, Confident individual. He came up with this idea of selling t shirts all by himself and thought of a name for the company. For two years he alone ran the whole "project" by himself.Established in 2017 this venture only aims to grow in one direction.
