Redefining North America´s logistics competitiveness Meridian 100° is committed to drive national and regional competitiveness in Mexico and North America and to improve global connectivity by making the global supply chain more agile and economic through the development of Logistics Parks and Free Trade Zones. Worldwide, Logistics Parks and Free Trade Zones (FTZs) or Special Economic Zones (SEZs) have proved to be drivers of economic growth and competitiveness for countries like Brazil, China, Dubai, India, Ireland and Korea among others. Meridian 100°´s, Free Trade Zone at Port Laredo, North America´s Logistics Heart The Port Laredo region represents for both México and the United States their most important land port and is one of the most dynamic borders in the world for goods exchange since almost 5 million TEUs, equivalent to 45% trade among the two countries, cross through this region every year. For the year 2020 the movement of goods between North America and Asia is forecast to experience robust growth in the range of 200% to 400%. Meridian 100° has decided to invest in the region, in a 2,500 acre development that will be the first world-class Free Trade Zone in northern México's border and the only one with a direct access to the Solidarity International bridge. For Asiatic, European and Latin American companies in sought of increasing their global competitiveness, the FTZ will provide the most important access gate to NAFTA through a confined, secure & high-tech environment with a range of facilities which will allow global logistics companies, manufacturers and international corporations in fields related to consumer goods, electronics, technology, retail, automotive and aerospace to have a faster and more economic operation and thus being positively impacted from the logistics-cost-saving-schemes and tax-saving benefits that the privileged location and the FTZ regime offer.
