Meruoca is dedicated to the large-scale rearing of insects as a means of upscaling food waste into sustainable by-products to be used again by the food and agriculture industry in Brazil.The insect rearing technology used by Meruoca replicates a naturally occurring cycle and completes the missing link in the food industry. Instead of landfilling or incinerating food waste, our process turns food waste into by-products that will eventually become food again.The insects reared by Meruoca are offered to the animal feed market as a sustainable source of protein and energy for poultry, fish, pigs and pets.Meanwhile, the frass resulting from the digestion of waste by our insects is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer for agriculture, horticulture and gardening.
