Machine to Machine (M2M) communication enables the monitoring of equipment at a remote site. An Engineer will be alerted to equipment failure or alarm situations as they occur. The use of the Mobile telephone network via a modem means that monitoring can be done without the engineer visiting site. The Mesh Communications M2M wireless controllers offer a low cost solution for off-site monitoring. When operating parameters change or equipment fails, messages can be sent to Plant Engineers and Managers. Information can be communicated by SMS (text), voice or email. Messages can also be transmitted to the plant to switch equipment on or off.
