Metaalhandel Ketting (Ketting Metal Merchants) started out as a modest one-man business in 1959, collecting scrap metal in the village of Pernis (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). The enterprise gradually grew into a small-scale family firm. Under the difficult economic conditions of the 1980s the company moved to an industrial estate, where it could continue to expand, evolving into the modern, medium-sized metal recycling company it is today.
