MetaSepia is an Optical proximity transactions enabling company for >1.2 Billion mobile phones, offering a nearly ubiquitous device and OS low-friction, no-NFC, solution for secure ad hoc mobile payments, data sharing, and ID verification/mutual authentication. We extend online Ecommerce to offline phones via the mPOS, and can execute both m2m EMV software (no SE chip, test demo only) and offline m@mPOS online payments software protocols in the cloud. We enable SaaS and online merchant PSP with offline mobile payments at the mPOS and this lowers interoperability and device frictions for present, new and emerging mobile micro and SME networks. Thecloud merchant is no longer disintermediated by the device-level NFC control at the mPOS. The 0.15%, $3 Billion, NFC transaction fee is transferred to the online cloud! We use the merchant mPOS phone for a several second video passthrough channel connecting the offline customer to an online merchant's cloud payments utility via the display and front-facing cameras. We also support mobile2mobile optical test transactions with EMV and similar offline software (no SE chip, no certified kernel yet)) software protocols, as seen in our demo videos. MetaSepia, a venture partnership of several payments companies and founders, has started fund-raising a $2 Mn seed round for a 12+ month partnership program and a 24 month runway to advance the prototype to a beta-test MVP, and are working towards partnerships with online and offline payments and ID Verification partners.
